After 3 years of helping 100+ DTC brands with their growth strategies, we noticed a common problem: many brands were way too reliant on paid marketing channels.
Many of the smaller DTC brands we worked with complained that their customer acquisition costs were higher than their product margins, and asked for assistance in optimizing their ads to increase conversion.
Then iOS14.5 happened. Brands were now reporting significant declines in the profitability of their campaigns, with some experiencing losses of 30-70%. It became clear that we needed to shift our agency's focus to organic channels in order to continue helping our clients achieve their growth goals.
After the shift, we made a discovery. With brand partnerships and co-marketing strategies, it was possible to convert a huge number of customers with zero cost and very little lift. The key was to form partnerships between brands that shared a similar target audience, and crucially, similar values.
By partnering and sharing audiences, our brands were able to achieve remarkable results. The most rewarding outcome was that our brands now were able to wean themselves off of paid advertising.
